Second suspect identified in Georgetown shooting

Investigators have identified a second suspect in a Georgetown shooting  that left a woman seriously injured earlier this month.

Halton Regional Police say officers responded to a residence for a report of a woman who had been shot in the area of John and Victoria Sts. around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 8.

Cops said at the time that the victim was transported to hospital where she were in stable condition with a serious, non-life-threatening injury.

Following an investigation, police announced a day after the shooting that 19-year-old Emma MacLean, of Georgetown, was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

Police said the accused and victim are known to each other and investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

On Friday, police said as a result of their continued investigation, a second suspect they allege is connected to the shooting has been identified.

Cops said investigators are attempting to locate and arrest 41-year-old James Chadrey (Chad) Hume, who is wanted for unlawful possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

Police said Hume is considered to be armed and dangerous, adding the suspect is known to frequent Halton Hills and is believed to be in the Georgetown area.

Investigators released a photo of the suspect.

If seen, cops advise to not approach the wanted man.
