Wyoming Department of Education Selects Just Right Reader to Help Schools Strengthen Student Literacy and Family Engagement

Just Right Reader’s Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ will extend Science of Reading-aligned instruction beyond the school day for students in Grades 1-2

IRVING, Texas, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This school year, eight school districts across Wyoming are implementing Just Right Reader’s Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ with students in Grades 1 and 2 as part of the Wyoming Department of Education’s Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant program. The implementation is part of a five-year Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ Study, which will examine how structured, home-based literacy supports can improve reading achievement, strengthen family engagement, and build stronger school-home partnerships.

The Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ Study brings together personalized decodable books, Just Right Reader’s Science of Reading Take-Everywhere Games, Family Literacy Workshops, and ongoing school-home supports to extend Science of Reading-aligned literacy instruction beyond the school day. Students will receive new Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ every three weeks throughout the school year based on their reading needs.

Participating districts in the Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ Study include Carbon County School District #1, Fremont County School District #1, Fremont County School District #14, Fremont County School District #21, Fremont County School District #25, Fremont County School District #38, Platte County School District #1, and Sweetwater County School District #1.

In partnership with Just Right Reader, each participating school in these districts will host three Family Literacy Workshops throughout the school year to help families connect with their child’s teacher and learn simple, effective ways to support reading at home. In addition to attending the workshops, families are encouraged to spend approximately 10 minutes each day reading the decodable books together and playing games to practice reading and writing words with their child.

These engaging, hands-on literacy activities reinforce letter recognition, decoding, spelling, writing, and vocabulary skills that students can practice in school, at home, and everywhere to accelerate reading achievement.

Together, Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs™ and Science of Reading Take-Everywhere Games will provide students with:
