One of the world’s leading wine producers, Argentina is well-known for its high-quality, affordable wines, as well as a growing range of fine wine labels. It ranked sixth worldwide in wine production in 2025, according to the International Organization of Wine and Vine, with the mountainous Mendoza region at the heart of its grape and wine industry.
Mendoza accounts for 75-per-cent of Argentina’s vineyards and is home to more wineries than any other province in the country. While malbec remains its most successful export, winemakers have access to more than 20 different grape varieties, including bonarda, cabernet sauvignon and syrah for red varieties and sémillon, chardonnay and pinot grigio for whites. Here are five well-priced wines from Mendoza to enjoy now.
