Canada’s public broadcaster is launching a slate of new personal finance programming under the umbrella CBC Money.
CBC says the content dedicated to “money matters” will launch next year, with programming “across entertainment and news” on TV, radio and online.
It will include a new video series from CBC Radio’s Cost of Living hosted by business journalist Paul Haavardsrud, offering practical tips.
CBC Money will also feature new personal finance entertainment shows.
The broadcaster says existing programming, such as Dragon’s Den, will also fall under the CBC Money umbrella.

It says it’s hiring 16 new journalists to support the initiative, including nine who will work out of a new studio in downtown Calgary.
CBC says it will also hire five new business reporters in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Halifax to support the programming, plus two producers in Toronto.
“With CBC Money, we will move beyond market updates and boardroom chatter, delivering essential stories of money-planning strategies and financial resilience to help Canadians make more informed decisions,” said Brodie Fenlon, editor-in-chief of CBC News, in a statement.
