Actor Awards 2026 Nominations: Cynthia Erivo, Gwyneth Paltrow and More Snubs & Surprises
The Actor Awards just might be coming for the Met Gala’s crown.
The annual awards show—formerly known as the SAG Awards—revealed it will have a red carpet dress code for the first time in its 31-year history.
The fashion theme for the 2026 ceremony, taking place in Los Angeles March 1 and streaming on Netflix, will be “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour From the ’20s and ’30s.”
And having a dress code isn’t the only change that’s drawing comparisons to the famed Met Gala, which has celebrated the themes “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” and “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” during its last three benefits that have taken place each May.
The Actor Awards is also teaming up with a fashion magazine this year, similar to how former Vogue editor Anna Wintour cochairs the star-studded fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Elle announced its partnership with the Actor Awards Jan. 15, revealing that the publication was the one to select the dress code, drawing inspiration “from an era defined by cinematic elegance and bold expression.”
