A man has been charged with setting fire to a historic synagogue in Jackson, Mississippi, after admitting he targeted it for its “Jewish identity,” the FBI says.
CCTV footage showed a masked figure pouring liquid inside before the blaze, which left the 165‑year‑old building badly damaged. Local residents and neighboring churches have offered their support.
The same synagogue was targeted by the Ku Klux Klan in 1967. No one was hurt in the attack.
