Mary J. Blige, Mike Tyson, Buju Banton and More Celebrate Brooklyn Chop House Miami's One-Year Anniversary

Star-studded Labor Day weekend celebration brought together major names across music, sports, entertainment and culture in Wynwood

MIAMI, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Brooklyn Chop House Miami marked its one-year anniversary over Labor Day weekend with a packed celebration bringing together some of the biggest names across music, sports, entertainment, business and culture.

Grammy Award-winning icon Mary J. Blige, boxing legend Mike Tyson, reggae icons Buju Banton and Bounty Killer, rapper and former Belizean politician Shyne, actor and television host Terrence J, actor Lil Meech, television personality and entrepreneur Yandy Smith, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, activist Tamika Mallory and philanthropist Tracy Mourning were among the guests who gathered at the Wynwood destination for the anniversary weekend.

The celebration also coincided with Brooklyn Chop House owner Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins’ birthday.

Guests were welcomed with a dramatic Golden Sun Goddess presentation and champagne experience featuring Sun Goddess Wines, Mary J. Blige’s wine brand. The evening continued with Brooklyn Chop House favorites, premium caviar, an eight-foot seafood ice tower filled with lobster and other seafood, custom chocolates by Benard, fire dancers, mirror dancers and live entertainment.

The night represented a milestone for Brooklyn Chop House Miami, which has spent its first year building a following at the intersection of dining, nightlife, music and culture.

During the evening, Mary J. Blige teased the possibility of a future collaboration with Brooklyn Chop House owners Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins and David Thomas involving the Miami location and potential expansion. Additional details have not yet been announced.

The moment underscored a relationship already visible throughout the evening, with Blige’s Sun Goddess Wines incorporated into the anniversary experience.

As Brooklyn Chop House Miami enters its second year, the Wynwood location continues to build on the original New York concept while developing an identity distinctly its own: part steakhouse, part nightlife destination and increasingly a gathering place for the worlds of entertainment, sports, business and culture.
