Canadian actor Carrie Anne Fleming has died at age 51, according to multiple reports.

Fleming was perhaps best known for her roles in horror productions such as iZombie and Supernatural.

She died on Feb. 26 in Sidney, B.C., according to Variety.

Her Supernatural co-star Jim Beaver confirmed to the outlet that Fleming died of breast cancer complications.

“My friend, my lover, my bright light, my beautiful costar Carrie Anne Fleming, who played Bobby Singer’s wife Karen on Supernatural died on Thursday, February 26, after confronting cancer for a long time. My heart is broken,” Beaver wrote in a post on the social-media platform Bluesky.

Studied drama in B.C.

Fleming was born on Aug. 16, 1974, in Digby, N.S. She later attended Mount Douglas Senior Secondary in Victoria. She stayed in B.C.’s capital city to study drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company.

She broke into films and television by landing a recurring role on Viper as well as an uncredited role in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore.

In 2005, she was cast by director Dario Argento in his show Masters of Horror, playing a disfigured woman with cannibalistic leanings in her Jennifer episode.

She also appeared in various horror shows, including The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers.

Recurring Supernatural role

Fleming had a recurring role on the popular CW drama show Supernatural, playing Karen Singer, the wife of main character Bobby Singer.

She later appeared in the 2015 TV film The Unauthorized Full House Story, playing the mother of Full House star Candace Cameron Bure, who played the character DJ Tanner on the show.

Fleming’s recurring role on CW’s iZombie had her playing Candy Baker for five seasons.

Canadian stage productions were also part of her well-rounded skillset. She appeared in B.C. productions of Noises Off, Romeo and Juliet, Steel Magnolias and Fame.

Fleming is survived by her daughter Madalyn Rose.
