On Nov. 5, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal government will table its second federal budget.

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne will table the legislation. He says it will include new measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, and “unlock investment, create high-paying jobs across our nation and strengthen our economy and our country for generations to come.”

The budget follows a year of Mr. Carney’s announcements on major projects, foreign trade deals and new defence spending, and comes on the heels of a summit that drew foreign investors from around the globe.

Here’s how Carney’s promises stack up ahead of his government’s second budget

On Friday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. ET – the day after the budget is released – reporters Mark Rendell, Jason Kirby, Pippa Norman and James Bradshaw will be answering reader questions on new measures in the budget and what impact it will have on Canadian businesses and the economy.

What should the government be focusing on in the budget? Will the results of the U.S. midterms have an impact? Should Canada do more to support its businesses? Submit your questions in the box below, or send us an e-mail at audience@globeandmail.com.
