The Empowerers | A Taste of Honey, A Chance at Life

BEIJING, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A report from People’s Daily:

In a turbulent world, what can bring greater certainty to development? China offers a decisive response.

Deep in Zambia, vast forests are home to a rich supply of wild honey. For nearly a decade, Chinese entrepreneurs have put down roots here, developing honey-processing operations and teaching local communities beekeeping skills that can provide a more secure source of income.

Working side by side, Chinese and Zambian partners have become colleagues, mentors and friends, learning from one another and becoming part of each other’s daily lives.

As expanding China-Africa trade links open access to overseas markets, Zambian honey is travelling further afield, creating new livelihoods and giving local communities a greater share in the opportunities that come with trade.
