(“Vision”) announces the North American Transactional VOD release of the inspirational, girl powered hockey film Before The Ice Melts on September 8, 2026, through an acquisition deal with Fairway Film Alliance. Written and directed by Nicholas Hagen and Hamid Torabpour, produced by Camille Torabpour, Marv Dauer, Chris Nelson, and executive produced by Dr. Tyler Sexton, Camille Torabpour, and Hamid Torabpour. Original music written and scored by Jessy Fury (stepson of NHL Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille and step grandson of legendary actor Steve McQueen).
Synopsis: A talented female hockey player anxiously awaits to see if she will be drafted and be able to live her dream of playing professionally. As the hour of the draft approaches while she works at her day job at the local ice rink, she will learn that anything is possible with hard work, support from family and friends, encouragement from NHL Hall of Famers, and most importantly, believing in yourself. Before The Ice Melts was shot on location in Owatonna, Minnesota, hometown of writer/director Nicholas Hagen, and includes scenes filmed at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles where the NHL’s LA Kings play. Cameos by NHL greats, including Lou Nanne, Luc Robitaille, Marty McSorly, and more, share real life advice about perseverance and not giving up on one’s dreams throughout the film.
The film stars Molly Peyton (Barbie, The Shards), Nancy Valen (Baywatch), Tommy Self, Charles Hubbell (Midnight Chronicles), Walking with the Enemy, Dark Galaxy), actress and influencer Nikki Leigh, Sonia Satra (Baywatch, Intrepid), and from the world of professional hockey, Lou Nanne, Luc Robitaille, Jim Fox, Bruce McNall, Jamie Langenbrunner, Joe Nieuwendyk.
