Jeannie Mai is getting real about her dating life.
The former host of The Real—who ended her two-year marriage to rapper Jeezy in 2023, before finalizing their divorce the following year—said she’s now focused on herself when it comes to “dating at 47,” vowing to put her own needs first in her next serious relationship.
“I’m not trying to be chosen. I’m deciding,” she stated in a March 5 YouTube video. “I’m deciding if I like me when I’m with you. Am I fully me when I’m with you?”
After all, Jeannie said, “It’s been a minute since I let somebody see me fully me.”
“Dating in LA already feels like a full-on sport,” she continued. “Everyone is also emotionally unavailable. This time, I have standards.”
The Daytime Emmy winner emphasized her new mindset, adding, “Being in my presence is a privilege.”
That’s why Jeannie recently took herself out on a solo date, documenting it in her vlog.
