“Wow, Justin Bieber, what a captivating performance,” said Grammy host Trevor Noah in the understatement of the night.

THE BEST
— Bruno Mars and Blackpink member Rose opening the show with the high-energy APT. He’d later return for another winning performance, I Just Might.
— “Nicki Minaj is not here. She is not here. She’s still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues (does Trump’s voice): ‘Actually Nicki, I’ve got the biggest ass!’” Grammy host Noah said to cheers from the crowd.

— The best new artist nominee performances one after the other, which included Addison Rae riding the back of a moving truck into the underground of L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena while performing Fame is a Gun and Alex Warren wandering the halls and aisles singing Ordinary before being lifted up by an elevated stage. British singer Olivia Dean, who performed Man I Need, won with this acceptance speech: “I guess I want to say I’m up here as a grand-daughter of an immigrant. I wouldn’t be here. Yeah, I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. So, yeah, we’re nothing without each other.”
— “If things get worse in America, can I come live with you?” Grammy host Noah said to Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, who had to tell him Puerto Rico is a part of the U.S.
— Bad Bunny winning best musica urbana album: “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ICE out!” he said to applause and cheers. “We’re not savage. We’re not animals. We’re not hellions. We are humans and we are Americans. The hate gets more powerful with hate. The only thing more powerful is love. So please we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”

— Jellyroll winning best contemporary country album for Beautifully Broken: “There was a moment in my life when all I had was a Bible this big (holds up phone) and a radio the same size in a six-by-eight-foot cell and I believed that those two things could change my life!”
— Teyana Taylor in a liquid bronze sequined gown that barely covered her naughty bits. “You’re eyes really are up here,” joked co-presenter Nikki Glaser.
— “No one is illegal on stolen land,” said best song winner Billie Eilish for Wildflower.
— French DJ/producer Gesaffelstein’s black laquer face mask/makeup. Very interesting and a bit spooky.

THE WORST
— Chappell Roan’s topless look in a barely there, sheer, burgundy half-a-dress that was attached to her nipples via silver diamond rings. Thankfully, she covered up on the E! red carpet coverage while she was being interviewed.
— Lady Gaga’s oversized black wicker hat with red needles sticking out of it during her performance of Abracadabra. Loved the song. Hated the hat. You couldn’t see her face unless the camera got a closeup.

— Messy hitmaker Lola Young lived up to the title of her song wearing an animal-print green sweatshirt and matching sweatpants. C’mon girl, it’s the Grammys! Make an effort! At least she later changed into a plaid outfit for her version of Messy on piano for the show.
— FKA Twigs in a nude and light-brown coloured patchwork dress giving us an apocalyptic look — she said punk — and not in a good way.
— K-Pop Demon Hunters‘ Audrey Nuna in a wacky deconstructed Thome Brown cream blazer that literally hung off her tiny shoulders.
