Two charged in human-trafficking probe
A 33-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman face human trafficking-related charges after an investigation by Toronto Police.
Police said they began their investigation in October, alleging that the accused trafficked a female victim “through a combination of deception, coercion and control.”
“The accused persons created and posted online ads for sexual services; this included the taking of sexualized pictures,” police said in a news release, adding the victim was trafficked in Southern Ontario.
“Investigators are concerned there may be more victims.”
Police said they arrested Romelle Morgan and Feza Ngongo, both of Toronto, on Dec. 30.
Morgan was charged with procuring and failure to comply with a probation order, while Ngongo was charged with trafficking in persons and advertising another person’s sexual services.
